Marijuana, Fraud, Warrant Arrests Made In Scotch Plains

Four people were arrested for possession of marijuana recently in Scotch Plains.

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — Scotch Plains Police reported making multiple arrests for marijuana possession, outstanding warrants, obstruction and more.

Scotch Plains Police blotter:

On April 9: Tylah D. Boyce, 19, of Plainfield was arrested for providing false information to Patrolman Gerard Rites and Alex Sanchez during a motor vehicle stop. He was also charged with possession of marijuana and an active warrant out of Scotch Plains. Boyce was transported to headquarters and processed.

On April 9: Akurah S. Murrell, 22, of Plainfield was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Eric Fricks. Murrell was transported to headquarters and processed.

On April 10: Jamaun D. Arkliss, 24, of Jersey City was arrested on outstanding warrants out of North Plainfield and Newark during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Joe Kostecki. Arkliss was transported to headquarters and processed.

On April 11: A resident on Spruce Mill Lane reported a fraud. Someone cashed a blank check against the victim’s bank account. This remains under investigation.

On April 11: Albert Augustine, 21, of Scotch Plains was arrested for obstruction of justice during a field investigation conducted by Patrolman Joe Kostecki. Augustine was transported to headquarters and processed.

On April 12: Akeem K. Williams, 23, of Plainfield was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Scotch Plains by Patrolman Joe Kostecki. Williams was processed at headquarters.

On April 13: Courtney C. Berkley, 32 of Dunellen was arrested for possession of marijuana during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Sgt. Brad Belford. Also arrested was Rashid D. Franco, 31 of Hillsborough who was charged with resisting arrest and possession of marijuana by back up officers Baltazar and Leyden. Berkley and Franco were transported to headquarters and processed.
