Multiple Blood Drives To Be Held In Scotch Plains
The NJ Blood Services is asking for donations of all blood types, but especially O-negative – the "universal" blood.

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — The New Jersey Blood Services will be hosting multiple blood drives in the Union County area, including in Scotch Plains.
The NJ Blood Services is asking for donations of all blood types, but especially O-negative – the “universal” blood which can be transfused into anyone in an emergency.
Additionally, inventory of several blood types is running below the desired target level.

The following drives are scheduled in the near future:
- Monday, April 16: Scotch Plains Donor Center, 2279 South Ave., Scotch Plains, 2 to 9 p.m.
- Tuesday, April 17: Miron Student Center of Kean University, 1000 Morris Ave., Union, 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Wednesday, April 18: Scotch Plains Donor Center, 2279 South Ave., Scotch Plains, 2 to 9 p.m.
- Friday, April 20: Scotch Plains Donor Center, 2279 South Ave., Scotch Plains, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Saturday, April 21: Scotch Plains Donor Center, 2279 South Ave., Scotch Plains, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Sunday, April 22: Scotch Plains Donor Center, 2279 South Ave., Scotch Plains, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Monday, April 23: Scotch Plains Donor Center, 2279 South Ave., Scotch Plains, 2 to 9 p.m.
- Wednesday, April 25: Scotch Plains Donor Center, 2279 South Ave., Scotch Plains, 2 to 9 p.m.
- Thursday, April 26: Clark Volunteer Emergency Squad, 875 Raritan Road, Clark, 1:30 to 7:30 p.m.
- Friday, April 27: Scotch Plains Donor Center, 2279 South Ave., Scotch Plains, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Saturday, April 28: Scotch Plains Donor Center, 2279 South Ave., Scotch Plains, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Sunday, April 29: Scotch Plains Donor Center, 2279 South Ave., Scotch Plains, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Monday, April 30: Scotch Plains Donor Center, 2279 South Ave., Scotch Plains, 2 to 9 p.m.
- Monday, April 30: Orange Ave. School, 901 Orange Ave., Cranford, 3 to 7:30 p.m.

NJ Blood Services is also in need of volunteers to work blood drives. The blood mobile volunteer is an integral member of the blood collection team whose task it is assist donors with registration, perform canteen duties and make appointments for their next donation.
Volunteers should have the ability to relate to the public, be able to perform different jobs as needed and have the willingness to follow the rules.
