Multiple Car Burglaries Reported In Scotch Plains
Scotch Plains Police also reported making multiple arrests for marijuana possession and outstanding warrants.
SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — Multiple car burglaries have been reported in the the township recently, according to the Scotch Plains Police blotter.
On Aug. 13: Numerous vehicles were burglarized on Jersey Avenue and Maple View Court during the overnight hours. This remains under investigation.
On Aug. 14: A Fanwood resident reported a motor vehicle burglary at the YMCA located at 1340 Martine Ave. The victim found the rear window to her vehicle smashed and items removed from the vehicle. This remains under investigation.

On Aug. 18: A resident on Grant Avenue reported a motor vehicle burglary during the overnight hours. This remains under investigation.

On Aug. 13: A resident reported the theft of a Raleigh mountain bike valued at $500 from the 1300 block of Martine Avenue.
On Aug. 14: A resident on Spruce Mill Lane reported fraudulent activity on one of their credit card accounts. This remains under investigation.
On Aug. 15: A resident on E. Second Street reported fraudulent online purchases made with one of their credit card accounts. This remains under investigation.
On Aug. 16: Moses D. Jean, 29, of Plainfield was arrested for obstruction of justice during a motor
vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Chris Ostrowski. Jean was transported to headquarters and processed.
On Aug. 16: A resident on Clydesdale Road reported a fraud. The victim received a municipal summons in the mail regarding a property in Essex County which the victim does not own or have any affiliation with. This remains under investigation.
On Aug. 16: Daniel A. Arauz, 22, of Carteret was arrested for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Mike Baltazar. Arauz was transported to headquarters and processed.
On Aug. 16: Kadeem D. Huggins, 27, of Monroe was arrested on an active warrant out of Scotch
Plains. Arrested by Patrolman Ed Budzinski.
On Aug. 17: Ebony E. Coley, 27, of Fords was arrested on active warrants out of Woodbridge and Rahway during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Joe Kostecki. Coley was transported to headquarters and processed.
On Aug. 17: Quinton D. Parks, 29, of Plainfield was arrested for possession of marijuana and an
active warrant out of Plainfield during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Scott Leyden. Parks was transported to headquarters and processed.
On Aug. 17: Christopher L. Pitt, 25, of Newark was arrested for possession of marijuana and an
active warrant out of Newark during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Mike Baltazar. Pitt was transported to headquarters, processed and turned over to Newark Police.
On Aug. 18: Alexander Sanchez, 45, of Elizabeth was arrested on an active warrant out of Newark during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Mike Baltazar. Sanchez was transported to headquarters and processed.
