On Monday, July 22 from 7:30 – 9:30 pm, astrono-educator Bob Reichman returns to the Scotch Plains Public Library for another Night Sky event: In the Steps of Galileo. Patrons will observe Jupiter just as Galileo did in the early 1600s. Will you come to the same startling conclusions that rocked his world?
After an indoor program and activity, the library will set up a 12″ Dobsonian telescope (weather permitting) and share stellar views of Jupiter, the 4 Galilean moons and a bonus of Saturn and his ring system as they drift across the southern skies.
Be sure to check the website and stop by the Reference Desk to learn more about the library’s summer reading programs for adults, teens, and children. This year’s theme promises to bring art, music, science, reading, and prizes to all.
