NJMVC Mobile Unit Coming To Scotch Plains Next Month

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — Residents will have convenient access to a variety of New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission (NJMVC) services when a mobile unit visits Scotch Plains next month.
The NJMVC Mobile Unit will be stationed at Shady Rest Country Club, 820 Jerusalem Road, on Friday, Aug. 7, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Appointments for services will open July 14 at 11 a.m. Available appointment-based services include REAL ID applications, registration renewals, initial permit processing (written tests are not offered at the mobile unit), non-driver identification cards, and duplicate or replacement titles and registrations.
Several services will also be available on a walk-up basis without an appointment, including license plate surrender, issuance of handicapped, veteran, and Purple Heart placards, and the purchase of red Graduated Driver License (GDL) decals.

The NJMVC Mobile Unit is wheelchair accessible. Officials note that appointments may be canceled due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
