October 7: Gangs of New York (R, 160 min) – Amsterdam Vallon is a young Irish immigrant released from prison. He returns to the Five Points seeking revenge against his father’s killer, William Cutting, a powerful anti-immigrant gang leader. He knows that revenge can only be attained by infiltrating Cutting’s inner circle. Amsterdam’s journey becomes a fight for personal survival and to find a place for the Irish people in 1860’s New York.
October 14: Golden Door (PG-13, 113 min) – Salvatore is a very poor farmer and a widower who decides to emigrate to the U.S. with all his family, including his old mother. Before they embark, they meet Lucy. She is a British woman who wants to go back to the States. Lucy, or Luce as Salvatore calls her, needs to marry someone before she arrives at Ellis Island in New York. Salvatore accepts her proposal. Once they arrive in Ellis Island they spend the quarantine period trying to pass the examinations to be admitted to the States. Tests are not so simple for poor farmers coming from Sicily. Their destiny is in the hands of the custom officers.

October 21: Spare Parts (PG-13, 83 min) – Four Hispanic high school students organize a robotics club. With no experience, 800 bucks, used car parts and big dreams, this rag tag team goes up against the country’s reigning robotics champion, MIT.
October 28: The Terminal (PG-13, 129 min) – Viktor is a simple man with a mission who finds himself entrapped in JKF airport after the accidental loss of his country to villainous coup. He becomes a man without a country and is stuck in at the airport’s international terminal with no visa, and is instructed that he is not allowed to leave. Slowly he encounters airport workers who come to his aid by mutual coercion. Gupta the hilarious Indian custodian; Enrique who transports food; Torres the security clerk and Mulroy. Viktor eventually falls for a stewardess who has spent her life waiting for the right man to come along.
