Police Investigate Unlocked Car Stolen In Fanwood
Another unlocked car was also burglarized last night. Police are reminding residents to lock their doors and remove valuables from sight.
FANWOOD, NJ — The Fanwood Police Department are investigating after one car was stolen and another burglarized overnight on Tuesday. Both were unlocked at the time.
The stolen motor vehicle parked on North Avenue was left unlocked with its key nearby, police report.
The car was stolen sometime between the hours of 9 p.m and 7 a.m. on Sept. 24 and 25, Fanwood Police Chief Richard Trigo said.

Officers are asking residents in the area for surveillance footage.
Another unlocked vehicle on Paterson Road was also burglarized in the same time period. Personal property was stolen from the car, Trigo said.

Residents are asked to contact the Fanwood Police Department if they see any suspicious activity, persons or vehicles at 908-322-5000.
Fanwood Police is also urging "all residents to also lock their vehicle doors and remove valuables from sight."
