Porsche, Cop Car Crashes On Rt. 22 During Chase: Scotch Plains PD
Scotch Plains Police also reported making multiple arrests for warrants, marijuana possession and more.
SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — A Porsche and a Scotch Plains Police vehicle crashed on Route 22 during a chase that began in the township, police said.
On Aug. 10 at 11:30 p.m., Sgt. Brad Belford tried to stop a 2012 four-door Porsche which took off on Route 22 West.
Police chased after the car that drove into Green Brook before turning around and heading back towards Scotch Plains, Scotch Plains police said.

Belford’s vehicle and the Porsche then got into a crash on Route 22 East at the intersection of Terrill Road in Watchung, police said.
Two people inside the Porsche were taken to an area hospital with complaints of pain. Both were later released. Belford was also taken to the hospital for observation and released.

The driver of the Porsche, Andreas K. Dions, 25, of Bronx, New York, was charged with eluding and resisting arrest and taken to the Union County Jail.

On July 30: The Uhaul located at 2015 Rt. 22 reported the theft of an auto transporter trailer from the property. Theft occurred overnight. This remains under investigation.
On July 31: William D. Pearson Jr., 40, of Plainfield was arrested on active warrants out of Plainfield during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Mike Baltazar. Pearson Jr. was transported to headquarters and processed.
On Aug. 1: Ryan T. Nicholson, 22, of Scotch Plains was arrested for possession of marijuana during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Mike Baltazar. Nicholson was transported to headquarters and processed.
On Aug. 1: Derrick St-Vil, 31, of Elizabeth was arrested on an active warrant out of Hillside during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Mike Smolinski. St-Vil was transported to headquarters and processed.
On Aug. 2: Tyrice L. Flowers, 44, of Scotch Plains was arrested for possession of marijuana. Also arrested was Nathanial D. Murphy, 24, of Scotch Plains on an active warrant out of Plainfield. Both arrests were the result of an investigation conducted by Sgt. Stan Pearson, Patrolman Zack Vonlangen and Patrolman Willie Dejesus. They were transported to headquarters and processed.
On Aug. 2: A resident on Flanders Ave. reported a fraud. Someone opened several cell phone accounts in the victim’s name. This remains under investigation.
On Aug. 4: Chanetel S. Wilson, 29, of Hillside was arrested on an active warrant out of Parsippany during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Mike Smolinski. Wilson was transported to headquarters and processed.
On Aug. 4: Devon Tutten, 22, of Jersey City was arrested for providing false information to police during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Eric Fricks. Tutten was transported to headquarters and processed.
On Aug. 5: Tabitha F. Vazquez, 29, of Jersey City was arrested on an active warrant out of Jersey City during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Eric Fricks. Vazquez was transported to headquarters and processed.
On Aug. 6: Daniel D. Campbell, 26, of Newark was arrested on active warrants out of Orange and West Orange during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Eric Fricks. Campbell was transported to headquarters and processed.
On Aug. 6: Aaron K. Williams, 27, of Newark was arrested on active warrants out of Newark during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Eric Fricks. Williams was transported to headquarters and processed.
On Aug. 7: A resident on Archer Lane reported a fraud. Victim was notified of fraudulent activity on one of her credit accounts. This remains under investigation.
On Aug. 8: A resident on Winding Brook Way reported the theft of a packaged delivered to her home. This remains under investigation.
On Aug. 8: William E. Reifler, 51, of Binghamton, New York was arrested for possession of marijuana during a suspicious vehicle investigation conducted by Patrolman Mike Baltazar. Reifler was transported to headquarters and processed.
On Aug. 10: Nathaniel Brown, 36, of Newark was arrested for possession of marijuana during a motor vehicle stop conducted by Patrolman Dominick Luciano. Brown was transported to headquarters and processed.
