SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. Together with Ring, we’re working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

Hero's job: Volunteers to do food and other shopping for those of us who are at high risk during the COVID-19 virus height of pandemics

Reason for recognition: She put herself at risk for contracting the virus to keep older high-risk persons from being put at higher risk for the pandemic.

One thing to know: Has a wonderful personality, and really cared about the elders of the area.
