Route 22 Hit-And-Run, Scotch Plains Man Hospitalized

A semi-conscious 37-year-old Scotch Plains man was found lying on Route 22 West near Harding Road with a head injury, police said.

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — A Scotch Plains man is hospitalized following a hit and run on Route 22 on Saturday night.

At 10:05 p.m. Scotch Plains Police found a semi-conscious 37-year-old township man lying on Route 22 West near Harding Road with a head injury, police said.

Looking at the debris on the highway police found that the man was hit by a vehicle that fled the scene, police said.

The Mountainside Rescue Squad and Atlantic Medic One took the man to Morristown Memorial Hospital where he has been listed in serious but stable condition, police said.

The incident is under active investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact Sgt. Brown at 908-322-7100 ext. 104.
