Scotch Plains Brothers Take Luxury Pet Care Across the Country

Fanwood-based K-9 Resorts Daycare & Luxury Hotel will open 80 more locations across the U.S. in five years

Fanwood, NJ -- What started as two brothers from Scotch Plains and their love for animals has grown into a business that is now expanding across the country.

Based in Fanwood, K-9 Resorts Daycare & Luxury Hotel has partnered with private equity firm Navigator Partners, LLC for a multi-million dollar investment to fuel the brand’s expansion.

Brothers Steven and Jason Parker founded K-9 Resorts in 2005 after their parents denied them a dog.

“Growing up in Scotch Plains we never had a dog but loved them and tried to do everything we could to get one,” Jason told Patch. “We started watching neighbors’ dogs when they traveled. Then one neighbor referred another neighbor then before we knew it we had a company, then a LLC.”

The brothers opened the luxury dog hotel Fanwood.

Continuing to expand, K-9 Resorts is now partnering with Navigator Partners to help grow throughout the United States.

“It’s always been a dream for us, always knew we would grow,” Jason said.

Jason said there has already been interest to open locations in Texas, Arizona, Virginia and Maryland. There are plans to open 80 new locations over the next five years.
