Scotch Plains-Fanwood Election Results For 2020

Scotch Plains has a contested mayoral race. The Scotch Plains-Fanwood Regional School Board is also contested. See the results:

SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ — Democrats appear to be leading in the race for mayor and council in Scotch Plains, according to unofficial results.

In Scotch Plains, there is a contested Mayoral race with Republican incumbent Alexander M. Smith running against Democrat Joshua G. Losardo.

Here are the unofficial results as of 11:17 p.m.:

  • Joshua G. Losardo: 4,856
  • Alexander M. Smith: 3,582

There is also a contested race for the 1st Ward Council Member seat with Democrat Ellen Zimmerman running against Republican incumbent Theodore J. Spera.

Here are the unofficial results as of 11:17 p.m.:

  • Theodore J. Spera: 3,254
  • Ellen Zimmerman: 5,125

In Fanwood, there is an uncontested race on the municipal level with two Democrats running unopposed for three, four-year councilman-at-large seats. Candidates include: Jeffrey Banks and Anthony Carter.

  • Jeffrey Banks: 2,042
  • Anthony Carter: 2,038

Scotch Plains-Fanwood Regional School Board has five candidates vying for three seats in the upcoming election.

Amy Boroff and Margaret Maggie Savoca are running for the one, three-year seat to represent Fanwood on the board.

Here are the unofficial results as of 11:17 p.m.:

  • Amy Boroff: 1,501
  • Margaret Maggie Savoca: 784

Dr. David Levine, Evan Murray, and Karen Mitchell are running for the two, three-year seats to represent Scotch Plains on the board.

Here are the unofficial results as of 11:17 p.m.:

  • Dr. David Levine: 3,745
  • Karen Mitchell: 4,736
  • Evan Murray: 4,328
