Scotch Plains, Fanwood See 0 Coronavirus Deaths In 3 Months

SCOTCH PLAINS/FANWOOD, NJ — As more and more New Jersey towns now rank high on New Jersey's coronavirus case and fatality list. See how Scotch Plains and Fanwood compare:

Since the pandemic began Scotch Plains has reported a total of 332 coronavirus cases with 170 cases recovered and 15 deaths. Fanwood has reported 109 cases and 12 deaths.

Scotch Plains has not reported any new deaths since June 26 while Fanwood has had no new deaths since May.

Comparing Scotch Plains and Fanwood to the rest of the Garden State, Patch put together lists showing all the towns and their latest reported number of coronavirus cases and fatalities now that the outbreak is in its sixth month, ranking them based on population. Scotch Plains saw a 10.34 percent increase in cases from July 4 through Aug. 23, which ranked at 321 out of all the towns in the state. Fanwood saw a 13.86 percent increase in cases from July 4 through Aug. 23, which ranked at 264 out of all the towns in the state

Scotch Plains saw 13.23 cases per 1,000 people in the same timeframe, which ranked at 284 in the state. Fanwood saw 15.13 cases per 1,000 people in the same timeframe, which ranked at 225 in the state.

Union County has a total of 17,052 cases and 1,184 deaths as of Friday, according to the state.
