Scotch Plains Firefighters Extinguish Kitchen Fire Saturday

The fire was reported at a home on the southside of town on Saturday night.

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — Scotch Plains Firefighter s extinguished a kitchen fire on Saturday night in town.

The fire was reported around 6:45 p.m. on Nov. 3 on the southside of town at a home where the residents were not home, Scotch Plains Fire Department reported.

When firefighters arrived they noticed a kitchen fire, forced entry into the home, and knocked down the main body of fire with an extinguisher, SPFD reported.

Using Engine 1683's attack line, firefighters extinguished the remaining fire.

Fanwood Fire Department Ladder-1 also performed primary search and ventilated the building.
