Scotch Plains to Host ‘Play in the Park’ Event At Jerseyland Park Next Month

Organizers say the event is intended to highlight the importance of inclusive public spaces.

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ —The Scotch Plains Department of Parks & Recreation will host a free community event designed to bring residents of all ages and abilities together for an evening of recreation, inclusion, and fun.

Play in the Park will be held on July 15 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Jerseyland Park, the event will celebrate both Disability Pride Month and Parks & Recreation Month.

Generously supported by My Potential, attendees can enjoy pick-up sports, lawn games, sensory-friendly crafts, food trucks, shaved ice, cooling stations, and opportunities to connect with local community organizations.
