Scotch Plains Local Arrested For DWI Following Crash
A theft from a Westfield home, identity theft, shoplifting and driving while intoxicated were reported recently in Westfield.

WESTFIELD, NJ — A Scotch Plains man was among those recently arrested in Westfield following a crash.
On April 21 at 5:12 a.m., David O. Rodriguez, 33, of Scotch Plains was arrested for driving while intoxicated pursuant to a motor vehicle accident in the area of the 100 block of Scotch Plains Avenue, Westfield Police reported.
He was transported to headquarters, processed and released to a responsible sober adult.

On April 14 at 6:14 p.m.: Bernard Christian, 49, of Linden was arrested for shoplifting from a business located in the 200 block of W. South Avenue. Further investigation found Christian to be in possession of heroin. He was transported to headquarters, processed and transported to Union County Jail.

On April 15 at 5:21 p.m.: A resident from Grant Avenue reported being the victim of a theft. Someone gained entry to the victim's home and removed unknown items.
On April 17 at 12:02 p.m.: A resident of Hardwick reports being the victim of identity theft. Someone opened a line of credit with a business without their knowledge or authorization. The victim reported no monetary loss from the incident.
On April 17 at 10:34 a.m.: Satoya Watson, 24, of New Brunswick was arrested at Middlesex County Jail for having an outstanding warrant out of Westfield for $750. He was transported to headquarters, processed and released on his own recognizance.
On April 17 at 6:48 p.m.: Ian Romanello, 28, of Westfield was arrested for having several outstanding warrants totaling $4,114. He was transported to headquarters, processed and turned over to Brielle Police in lieu of bail.
On April 17 at 8:17 p.m.: Danielle Ruffin, 28, of Elizabeth was arrested for having a warrant out of Westfield for $2,500 at Essex County Jail. She was transported to headquarters, processed and committed to Union County Jail.
On April 18 at 9:28 p.m.: A resident of Castleman Drive reported a victim of identity theft. Someone opened a credit card in the victim's name without authorization and more than $5,000 was charged.
On April 19 at 12:01 p.m.: A resident of the 1100 block of Central Avenue reported being the victim of identity theft. Someone used the victim's information to file a joint income tax return without his authorization through the IRS.
On April 19 at 4:48 p.m.: Edwin Martinez, 21, of Garwood was arrested for having a warrant out of Westfield for $293. He was transported to headquarters, processed and released after posting bail.
On April 19 at 2:57 p.m.: A resident of Lawrence Avenue reported that they were the victim of harassment. Complaint was regarding a known person sending alarming text messages.
On April 20 at 3:21 p.m.: A business in the 200 block of East Broad Street reported being the victim of a theft. Three women in their teens/20s entered the store between 11:17 a.m. and 1:50 p.m. and stole approximately $1,638.25 worth of merchandise.
On April 20 at 2:16 p.m.: Aleata Boyd, 54, of Westfield was arrested for theft following an investigation conducted in the area of the 300 block of East South Avenue. She was transported to headquarters, processed and released on summonses.
