At 11:45 p.m. a Norfolk Southern train traveling west in the area of Goodmans Crossing fatally hit a man, Scotch Plains Police Capt. Jeffrey Briel said. The man was found in the area and identified as a 40-year-old man from Scotch Plains, Briel said.
