Scotch Plains Man Sentenced To 5 Years In Prison For Sharing Child Porn

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — A Scotch Plains man was sentenced to five years in prison for having child pornography, Acting U.S. Attorney Rachael A. Honig announced.
Jeffrey Shreve, 38, of Scotch Plains, previously pleaded guilty before to an information charging him with receiving and possessing images of child pornography. Shreve was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Brian R. Martinotti on Monday in Newark federal court.
Shreve reportedly used a peer-to-peer file sharing software to find and get images of child sexual abuse, including images of prepubescent children, according to documents filed in this case and statements made in court.

In addition to the prison term, Judge Martinotti sentenced Shreve to seven years of supervised release and ordered restitution of $6,000.
