Scotch Plains Police To Hire 2 Special Officers

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — Due to a recent retirement, the Scotch Plains Police Department is hiring a Class III Special Police Officer and Class II Special Police Officer.

Salary for the part-time positions are $30 per hour.

The Class III Special Police Officer shall conduct school safety and security duties as directed by the Chief of Police.

The Scotch Plains Police Department is also looking to hire Class II SLEO to be used to fill in for Class III officers when they are unable to work and also for covering side details if they are not able to be filled by active officers.

One Class II will be allowed to work up to 40 hours per week and the rest will be restricted to 20 hours per week.
