Scotch Plains Public Library Announces April Book Clubs

On Monday, April 2 at 7:00 PM, the Evening Book Club will be meeting to discuss My Name is Lucy Barton by Elizabeth Strout. Set in the mid-1980s, Lucy Barton, hospitalized for nine weeks, is surprised when her estranged mother shows up at her bedside. Her mother talks of local gossip, but underneath the banalities, Lucy senses the love that cannot be expressed. On Tuesday, April 17 at 1:00 PM, the Afternoon Book Club will be meeting to discuss No Book but the World by Leah Hager Cohen. This literary novel is about adult siblings and what happens when the brother is accused of murdering a local boy. Who is truly responsible and could it have been avoided if the brother had been treated differently by his parents, by his sister, by society?
