Scotch Plains Resident Named to Soccer's Second Team All-America
Hambleton adds another honor following a storied career in high school soccer.

Spencer Hambleton of Scotch Plains, an incoming freshman at Rutgers University, was named to soccer's Second Team All-America, the college announced Tuesday.
As a student at St. Benedict’s School in Holmdel, Hambleton took his team—he was captain of the No. 1 team in the country—to a pair of national championships and four state preparatory school championships. He is ranked No. 33 on ESPNHS’s Top 150, and was named a two-time First Team All-Prep selection and an ESPN New Jersey All-Star.
Hambleton begins his college soccer career in late August when the Rutgers Scarlet Knights play exhibition games in Monmouth on Aug. 20 and in Virginia on Aug. 24. The team's first home regular season game against Penn State takes place at Yurcak Field Sept. 6.
