Scotch Plains Will Start Recycling Pickup Earlier Due to Extreme Heat

SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ —Due to extreme heat expected over the next several days, recycling collection will be earlier in some parts of Scotch Plains.

For Southside Zones 4 and 5, recycling collection will begin one hour earlier at 5:30 a.m.

Residents are asked to place recycling at the curb the night before their scheduled pickup day to ensure materials are collected.

The change was made to help crews as they adjust schedules to reduce heat exposure.
