SP Library to Offer Art & Music Programs for Adults in May

Explore your creative side at the Scotch Plains Public Library.

Explore your creative side at the Scotch Plains Public Library. On Friday, May 3 at 10 am, local artist Sandra Cerchio will offer her monthly drawing class for adults (ages 18 and older). This month’s session will be “Hands.” Pre-registration is required and space is limited. Attendees should bring sketch paper, pencils, and an eraser.

On Sunday, May 5 at 2 pm, join fellow music lovers for the library’s popular “Sunday Sounds” series. This month’s installment features Ed Goldberg and the Odessa Klezmer Band. A band since 1984, they will bring the joyous dance music of the Klezmorim (Jewish folk musicians) to the library and will celebrate the heritage of Eastern Europe, Ladino, and Middle Eastern music. No registration is necessary.

Later in the month, on Monday, May 13 at 10 am, join the fun of Jewelry Making Club and be amazed at what you can do with expert guidance from instructor Perthea Brown. Registration is required for this event. Be sure to check the library’s website for the supply list.
