Spring into fitness and fun at the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA
Registration for spring programs begins February 13

The Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA is the place to be this spring! The Y is offering programs for youth, teens and adults, including a number of new classes and returning favorites.
The Y is currently undergoing an exciting building expansion project and programs and services will continue throughout construction. The Y’s Spring 1 Program Session runs from February 27-April 23, 2023. Program registration begins Monday, February 13 at 9:00am and is open to active FSPY members. Not a Y member? Teen Fitness: This Spring, the Y is bringing back its Teen Yoga and Teen Cycle classes for teens ages 12-16. Plus, new this session is Small Group Teen Circuit Training. Teens can gather 3 or 4 friends and train together after school with professional guidance.

Youth Gymnastics: The Y’s caring teachers encourage each gymnast to progress at their own pace – whether their goal is to someday be a competitive gymnast or just to have fun. This spring, there will be classes for toddlers through teens at varying levels, now with an updated progressive structure for school-aged classes.
Youth Dance: The Y’s dance program aims to enhance the creativity of each individual through movement. There are several classes for kids ages 3 and up, aimed at introducing them to different techniques, building or enhancing skills and having fun! This spring, the Y is offering Gymnastics/Dance Combo, Beginner Dance and a Dance Combo class.
Youth Sports: There’s sports of all sorts and something for everyone at the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA! During the Spring 1 Session, the Y is offering All Star Sports and Gym Ninja for preschoolers; Ninja Warrior, Have A Ball and Floor Hockey for school-aged kids, and Tae Kwon Do and Have A Ball for teens. Plus, Middle School Track is back, running from April-June.
Youth and Family Specialty Programs: Parents can enjoy a night out without the kids, while the kids have a blast at the Y with the Kids Night Out program, held the second Friday of each month, October through June. Plus, don’t miss out on Vacation Full Days when the Scotch Plains Fanwood public schools are not in session for holidays or scheduled vacation days. When school’s out, the Y is in!
Preschool Programs: During the Spring 1 Session, kids ages 3-5 can enjoy A Trip to the Zoo, in which they learn about different animals through books, songs and craft projects, and Storybook Art, a class that allows their imagination to take flight by bringing storybook characters to life through special craft projects.
Health and Safety classes: The Y continues to offer American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid, CPR and AED courses, along with a variety of Lifeguarding courses. These programs are open to Y members and members of the community.
In addition to the above highlights, the Fanwood-Scotch Plains Y continues to offer programs and services included with full membership including: group exercise classes for all fitness levels and interests; lap swimming and water walking lanes; family swim; select adult sports programs; open gym; special events, and more. Plus, the Fanwood-Scotch Plains Y now has a virtual wellness platform that members can access anytime, anywhere!
