Theft, Burglary, Fraud Reported In Scotch Plains
A township resident also reported someone opened several pieces of mail which were delivered to his house.
SCOTCH PLAINS, NJ — Scotch Plains Police reported theft, burglary, fraud and other offenses recently.
Scotch Plains Police blotter:
On Jan. 30: A resident in the 200 block of Victor Street reported the theft of a license plate from their vehicle. The plate was entered stolen.

On Feb. 1: Officers recovered a stolen 2007 silver Ford E35 which was reported stolen out of Plainfield. The vehicle was recovered behind the Valleyscent Apartments on Front Street.
On Feb. 1: A resident in the 200 block of Union Avenue reported a burglary. The victim parked his work van in front of his house and noticed damage to the rear door lock in the morning. Several tools were reportedly stolen from vehicle.

On Feb. 1: Officer responded to the 2400 block of Plainfield Avenue on a report of fluid leaking from a shipping container. The Scotch Plains Fire Department was on scene. The Union County Haz-Mat team responded to assess the scene and will be conducting a follow up investigation.
On Feb. 3: A resident in the 2000 block of Lyde Place reported someone opened several pieces of mail which were delivered to his house.
On Feb. 3: A resident on Winchester Drive reported a fraud. Someone opened a cell phone account in the victim’s name. This remains under investigation.
