Wawa Store, Gas Station On Rt. 22 Expected To Open In 2019
Construction continues to be underway at Wawa's new location off Route 22 in North Plainfield.

NORTH PLAINFIELD, NJ — Construction continues to be underway at Wawa's new location off Route 22 in North Plainfield.
As of August most of the framework for the new gas station has been erected and has six fuel pumps. The 24-hour Wawa convenience store continues to be constructed and will be about 5,000 square feet.
The new location at 855 Route 22 is estimated to open by the end of this year, according to a Wawa spokeswoman Jennifer Wolf.

The Wawa location is replacing the iconic and long-standing Fabricland building, which had sat at the location for 55 years.
Demolition of the former 21,000 square foot Fabricland building was done in January. Fabricland has since relocated to 270 Route 22 West in Greenbrook.

The new Wawa location is located across the highway and near the newly built QuickChek, which opened this past November.
