YMCA Swimmers compete in the 2022 Long Island Holiday Invitational

Sixty of the 13-and-older swimmers from the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA (FSPY) competed in the 3-day 2022 Holiday Invitational hosted by the Cross Island and Flushing YMCAs. The meet took place at the Nassau County Aquatic Center in East Meadow, New York, from December 9-11, 2022. FSPY competed against 12 other YMCAs across the tri-state area.

Congratulations to the following swimmers who earned Short Course YMCA National Championship eligibility cuts: Brandon Calderone (200 Fly), Will Heinze (500 Free), Owen Higinbotham (100 Free), Brooke McAndrew (100 Free), Matthew Sauls (100 Breast), and Logan Swenson (50 Free and 100 Free).

The FSPY Swim Team dominated the relay races with the 13-14 Girls Medley (A. Jiang, T. DeGennaro, R. Kou, N. Beversluis), 13-14 Boys Medley (K. Dripchak, D. Lagrimas, B. Michaels, A. Frank), 15-19 Girls Medley (L. Lane, E. Cadigan, L. Kim, C. Ritter), 13-14 Girls Free (A. Jiang, R. Kou, T. DeGennaro, N. Beversluis), 15-19 Girls Free (L. Kim, B. McAndrew, E. Cadigan, C. Ritter) and 15-19 Boys Free (B. Frank, T. McGeehan, L. Swenson, C. Kavanagh) all taking the top place at 1st.

The 15-19 Boys Medley (B. Frank, T. McGeehan, O. Higinbotham, C. Kavanagh) and 13-14 Boys Free (A. Frank, D. Lagrimas, S. Stanik, K. Dripchak) finished at 2nd place.

The 13-14 Boys Free (B. Michaels, J. Cetin, H. McClure, M. Iannotta) placed 3rd with the 13-14 Boys Medley (S. Stanik, D. Gee, J. Cetin, M. Iannotta), 15-19 Girls Medley (B. McAndrew, Y. Chow, K. Curran, B. Labarge), 15-19 Girls Free (B. Labarge, K. Curran, G. Yip, S. Trenery) and 15-19 Boys Free (T. Kou, O. Higinbotham, B. Calderone, W. Crall) all coming in at 4th.
