Registration for the Y's Spring 2 programs begins April 10 at 9:00am

Spring into fitness and fun at the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA! Y members have access to a variety of programs and classes for youth, teens and adults that can help them grow stronger in mind and body.
The Y is currently undergoing an exciting building expansion project and programs and services will continue throughout construction. The Y’s Spring 2 Program Session runs from April 24-June 25, 2023. Program registration begins Monday, April 10 at 9:00am and is open to active FSPY members. In addition to the session highlights below, the Y continues to offer a range of programs and services included with full membership such as: group exercise classes for all fitness levels and interests; lap swimming and water walking lanes; family swim; select adult sports programs; open gym; special events, and more. Plus, the Fanwood-Scotch Plains Y now has a virtual wellness platform that members can access anytime, anywhere!

Teen Fitness: Join in the fun with the Y’s popular Teen Yoga and Teen Cycle classes for teens ages 12 and up. Teens also can train along with 3 or 4 friends after school as part of the Y’s Small Group Teen Circuit Training, led by the Y’s personal trainers.
Youth Gymnastics: The Y’s preschool gymnastics classes offer fun and exciting age-appropriate activities that develop gymnastics skills, refine gross motor movements, and improve strength, balance, coordination and decision-making skills. These classes run in 8 or 9-week sessions and require registration for each session.
The Y also offers progressive youth gymnastics classes, with a one-time registration for classes through June. Select spots are currently open in these programs and wait lists are available, with the Y continuously working to open additional spots and meet community need. In addition, the Y offers a competitive gymnastics club for more advanced gymnasts.
Youth Dance: The dance program at the Fanwood-Scotch Plains YMCA aims to enhance the creativity of each individual through movement. There are several classes for kids ages 3 and up, aimed at introducing them to different techniques, building or enhancing skills and having fun! This spring, the Y is offering Gymnastics/Dance Combo, Beginner Dance and a Dance Combo class.
Youth Sports: During the Spring 2 Session, the Y is offering All Star Sports and Gym Ninja for preschoolers; T-Ball, Ninja Warrior and Have A Ball for school-aged kids, and Tae Kwon Do and Have A Ball for teens. Plus, Middle School Track is back. Registration for track is ongoing and the program begins the week of April 10.
Youth Specialty Programs: Parents can enjoy a night out without the kids, while the kids have a blast at the Y with the Kids Night Out program, held the second Friday of each month, October through June. Plus, don’t miss out on Vacation Full Days when the Scotch Plains Fanwood public schools are not in session for holidays or scheduled vacation days. When school’s out, the Y is in!
Preschool Programs: During the Spring 2 Session, kids ages 3-5 can enjoy Cooking in the USA, a celebration of America’s regional tastes that teaches basic cooking skills, and A Trip Around the World, in which they will learn about different countries and cultures through arts and crafts, singing, dancing and games.
Health and Safety classes: The Y continues to offer American Red Cross Adult and Pediatric First Aid, CPR and AED courses, along with a variety of Lifeguarding courses. These programs are open to Y members and members of the community.
