4 Secaucus Men Charged With Aggravated Assault In Hoboken

Hoboken Police arrested three of the men at their homes in Secaucus. The fourth turned himself in to Secaucus Police last week.

SECAUCUS, NJ — Four young men from Secaucus were arrested March 25 and charged with an aggravated assault that police say happened in Hoboken on March 14.

Shaun Katchula, 21, Kyle Garcia, 21, Jack Lees, 20, and Steven Vega, 19, all Secaucus residents, were arrested by Hoboken Police.

All were charged with aggravated assault and riot/failure to disperse.

Hoboken Police say the assault happened on March 14, a Saturday, outside 80 River Street, in the area of Texas Arizona bar. March 14 was the day of Hoboken's infamous St. Patrick's Day bar crawl.

The victim they are accused of assaulting was seriously injured.

Hoboken police arrested three of the men at their homes in Secaucus last Wednesday, March 25. The fourth turned himself in to Secaucus police that same day.

All four men were taken to the Hudson County Jail.

“Hoboken will not stand for this type of behavior, and our Police Department will continue to crack down on any and all violent behavior," said Hoboken Police Chief Steven Aguiar. “I commend our team for quickly identifying and locating those responsible and thank the Secaucus PD for their assistance in this investigation and arrests."

Hoboken Police Detective Paul Quinn investigated the assault and identified the four Secaucus men as the suspects, said Chief Steven Aguiar.
