American Dream, Inserra ShopRites Donate Food, Tickets To Needy

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ — American Dream gave out free and discounted tickets to their indoor amusement park/water park during a food giveaway at the Meadowlands YMCA Tuesday.

American Dream, the Meadowlands YMCA and Inserra Shoprite supermarkets donated meal boxes to people in need.

The 2-mile-long line of cars started lining up at 5:30 a.m. In total, 480 cars received food boxes. Inside were hams donated by American Dream, roasting chickens and gingerbread house kits, donated by Inserra ShopRite. The complimentary tickets were randomly put into some boxes as a holiday surprise.

American Dream employees joined YMCA volunteers and East Rutherford Police to give out the boxes. Shrek from DreamWorks water park made a special appearance.

"There is nothing more rewarding than spreading joy and putting smiles on faces during this special time of year," said Amy Herbold, senior vice president at American Dream and the Meadowlands YMCA’s incoming vice chairwoman.

The Meadowlands Area YMCA is located at 390 Murray Hill Pkwy in East Rutherford.
