SECAUCUS, NJ — She did not sing, as expected, but Sydney Millevoi was honored at the Tuesday night Secaucus town council meeting.
Millevoi, 23, is the hometown Secaucus girl who was a contestant on NBC's "The Voice." She made it to the final nine contestants on the show, but did not advance to the finals. R&B singer John Legend, Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson are the three celebrity coaches on the show.

"Well, she should be in the finals, but that's OK. We know that now her trajectory is straight up," said Councilwoman Orietta Tringali. "We know she's going to be a star. We are so proud of you. You put Secaucus on the map."
Tringali continued that Millevoi showed "grace and confidence" under the pressure of performing.
"You really made us all proud ... We're just so lucky that you live in this town," said Tringali, adding that younger Secaucus tweens and teens look up to her.
Millevoi said all three celebrity coaches "were great. John Legend was the best. He saw things in me that I never thought I could ever be. And that's all you really want in a mentor and a coach. Kelly was great. Adam was great."
She said she and the other contestants on the show "all share a love of the art form (of singing)."
