SECAUCUS, NJ — All of last week's arrests, released by Secaucus Police:
On May 5 at 1:05 p.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 62-year-old man, Diego Cano-Ruiz of Lyndhurst, NJ for Tampering with Public Records [2C:28-7A(2)] and Knowingly Display Fake Temporary Registration [2C:21-4.9E]. He was issued a complaint summons along with 1 motor vehicle summons and released.
On May 6 at 12:51 a.m., officers from the NJ State Police responded to Secaucus Police headquarters to transfer custody of a 33-year-old man of Paterson, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus, NJ in the amount of $5,000 with a 10% option. He was able to post bail and was released.
On May 6 at 1:21 p.m., Officers from the Hudson County Sheriff responded to Secaucus Police headquarters to transfer custody of a 23-year-old man of West New York, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus in the amount of $1,000 with a 10% option. He was released on his own recognizance by the Secaucus municipal court.
On May 7 at 6:50 a.m., Secaucus Police responded to Home Depot on a report of a shoplifting. Police arrested a 31-year-old male, Jonathan Nieves for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(2)], Possession of Drug Paraphernalia [2C:36-2A] and Hindering Apprehension [2C:29-3B(4)] for providing false information to the police. Nieves was also found to have the following outstanding warrants; 1 outstanding NCIC warrant issued out of the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office with no bail, 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Kearny, NJ in the amount of $1,000, 1 outstanding warrant issued out of North Bergen, NJ with no bail, 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Woodbridge, NJ in the amount of $2,500 and 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Newark, NJ in the amount of $6,500 with a 10% option. Nieves was issued his complaint warrant and taken to the Hudson County Jail.
On May 7 at 7:23 a.m., Secaucus Police responded to Home Depot on a report of a shoplifting. It was reported to the police that the individual involved had fled the store prior to police arriving. The involved party was located walking in the area of Paterson Plank Road and Union Turnpike. The involved party then fled from the police. After a brief foot pursuit, the police took into custody a 53-year-old male, Edilberto Castellano of Jersey City, NJ for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(2)], Resisting Arrest [2C:29-2B(1)], Obstructing the Administration of Law [2C:29-1A] and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia [2C:36-2A]. Castellano was also found to have 1 outstanding NCIC warrant issued out of the Union County Sheriff’s Office with no bail, 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Clifton, NJ in the amount of $2,000 and 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Linden, NJ in the amount of $1,500. Castellano was issued his complaint warrant and taken to the Hudson County Jail.
On May 7 at 4:48 p.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 34-year-old man of Jersey City, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Jersey City, NJ with no bail and 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Jersey City, NJ in the amount of $1,000 with a 10% option. He was issued two motor vehicle summonses and transported to the Hudson County Jail.
On May 8 at 4:56 p.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 22-year-old woman of Secaucus, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus, NJ in the amount of $2,000 with a 10% option. She was able to post bail for the warrant, was issued 1 motor vehicle summons and was released from police custody.
On May 8 at 8:49 p.m., Secaucus Police responded to the 100 block of Blue Heron Drive for the purpose of taking into custody an individual who has two outstanding warrants issued out of Jersey City, NJ. Upon arrival at the location, the involved woman ran from the residence in an attempt to elude police. She was subsequently located in the area of 308 Julianne Terrace. At that location, the police arrested a 32-year-old woman, Cariana Fasciano of Secaucus, NJ for 2 outstanding warrants issued out of Jersey City, NJ with no bail for each warrant. Fasciano was also charged with Resisting Arrest [2C:29-2A(2)] and Obstructing the Administration of Law [2C:29-2A]. She was issued complaint warrants and transported to the Hudson County Jail.
On May 9 at 12:01 a.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 36-year-old man, Faisal Abdi of Jersey City, NJ for Obstructing the Administration of Law [2C:29-1A]. He was issued his complaint summons along with 4 motor vehicle summonses and released.
On May 9 at 5:30 p.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 35-year-old man, Kqwamaine Smith of New York, NY for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Elmwood Park, NJ with no bail along with 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Bound Brook, NJ in the amount of $2,500, 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Pequannock, NJ in the amount of $2,500 with a 10% option and 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Elmwood Park, NJ in the amount of $500 with a 10% option. Smith was also charged with Hindering Apprehension [2C:29-3B(4)] for providing false information to the police. Smith was issued his complaint summons. Officers from the Elmwood Park Police Department responded to Secaucus and took custody of him.
On May 9 at 10:51 p.m., Secaucus Police observed a motor vehicle stopped in the parking lot of the Red Roof Inn. The individual in the driver’s seat was found to be asleep. Police arrested a 27-year-old man of Cambridge, MD for Driving While Intoxicated [39:4-50]. He was issued 8 motor vehicle summonses and released from police custody after a period of time had surpassed to where his Blood Alcohol Level was deemed to be under the legal limit.
On May 10 at 10:29 a.m., Secaucus Police observed an individual in the area of 101 Paterson Plank Road who was believed to have outstanding warrants out for his arrest. Police arrested a 46-year-old man for 11 outstanding warrants issued out of Wayne, NJ in the amount of $11,000, along with 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Little Falls, NJ in the amount of $2,500, 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Rochelle Park, NJ in the amount of $750 with a 10% option and 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Rochelle Park, NJ in the amount of $750 with a 10% option. Wayne along with the Little Falls and Rochelle Park released him on his own recognizance pending future court date dates.
On May 10 at 3:16 p.m., Secaucus Police responded to Walmart on a report of a shoplifting and an individual who had made a threat to Walmart employees. Police arrested a 30-year-old man of Union City, NJ for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(1)], Endangering the Welfare of a Child [2C:24-4A(2)], Terroristic Threats [2C:12-3A] and Employing a minor in the commission of a crime [2C:24-9A]. He was issued a complaint summons and was released.
