SECAUCUS, NJ — Released by Secaucus Police on Tuesday, all of last week's arrests:
On May 11 at 8:25 p.m., Secaucus Police responded to the Harrison Police Department to take into custody a 32-year-old man of Newark, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus in the amount of $1,000. He was unable to post bail and was taken to the county jail.
On May 12 at 9:47 p.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 26-year-old woman of Bayonne, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Newark, NJ in the amount of $1,000 with a 10% option. She was able to post bail, was issued three motor vehicle summons and was released.
On May 13 at 8:14 a.m., NJ Transit Police officers responded to Secaucus Police headquarters to transfer custody of a 19-year-old man of North Bergen, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus, NJ in the amount of $5,000 with a 10% option and 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus in the amount of $1,000. Secaucus municipal court granted him a conditional dismissal and he was released.
On May 12 at 10:00 a.m., in furtherance of an investigation conducted by the Secaucus Police Department Detective Division in relation to a car theft that occurred at Riverside Station Boulevard on 11/30/2025, detectives responded to Elizabeth, NJ and arrested a 27-year-old man, Frederick Cesar Tavarez of Perth Amboy, NJ and charged him with Theft of a Motor Vehicle [2C:20-10.1A], Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle [2C:20-10.2A], Operating a Facility for sale of Stolen Motor Vehicle Parts [2C:20-16A], Leader of an Auto Theft Trafficking Network [2C:20-18A], Fencing [2C:20-7.1B(1)] and Conspiracy [2C:5-2A(1)].
Related to this, on 03/06/2026, Secaucus Police responded to Riverside Station Boulevard on another report of a theft of a motor vehicle. Related to that incident, Cesar Tavarez was also charged with Theft of a Motor Vehicle [2C:20-10.1A], Receiving a Stolen Vehicle [2C:20-10.2A], Operating a Facility for sale of Stolen Motor Vehicle Parts [2c:20-16A], Leader of an Auto Theft Trafficking Network [2C:20-18A], Fencing [2C:20-7.1B(1)] and Conspiracy [2C:5-2A(1)] for this incident. He was lodged at the Essex County Jail.
On May 14 at 9:31 a.m., during a motor vehicle stop, Secaucus Police arrested a 21-year-old man of Secaucus for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Tewksbury, NJ in the amount of $750. He was able to post bail and was released.
On May 15 at 7:57 a.m., Secaucus Police responded to the area of 9th Street and Clarendon Street on a report of an individual who appeared to be asleep in the driver’s seat of a motor vehicle. Police arrested a 39-year-old man, Jonathan Benigno of Lake Hiawatha, NJ for Possession of CDS believed to be Cocaine [2C:35-10A(1)]. Beningo was also found to have 1 outstanding NCIC warrant issued out of Middlesex County with no bail. He was issued a complaint warrant and taken to the Hudson County Jail.
On May 15 at 1:56 p.m., Secaucus Police responded to Kohl’s for a report of a shoplifting. Police arrested a 49-year-old woman Christina Brown of Garfield, NJ for Shoplifting [2C:20-11B(2)]. She was also found to have 1 outstanding NCIC warrant issued out of Garfield, NJ with no bail. She was issued a complaint warrant and taken to the Hudson County Jail.
On May 15 at 8:48 p.m., Secaucus Police responded to the Essex County Jail to take into custody a 57-year-old man of Newark, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus, NJ in the amount of $1,500 and 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Kearny, NJ in the amount of $1,000. He was unable to post bail for the two warrants and was taken to the Hudson County Jail.
On May 15 at 9:57 p.m., Fort Lee Police responded to Secaucus Police headquarters to take into custody a 38-year-old man of Newark, NJ for 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Secaucus, NJ in the amount of $5,0000 with a 10% option along with 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Kearny, NJ in the amount of $1,000, 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Hoboken, NJ in the amount of $75 and 1 outstanding warrant issued out of Jersey City, NJ in the amount of $50. Hoboken and Jersey City Police released him on his own recognizance and he was able to post bail for the warrants issued out of Secaucus and Kearny. He was released.
On May 17 at 1:18 a.m., Secaucus Police responded to Chico’s Pizza and Restaurant located at 161 Front Street on a report of an individual who smashed the window of the restaurant. During the investigation, the police arrested a 38-year-old man, Jamaal Franklyn of Brooklyn, NY for Criminal Mischief [2C:17-3A(1)]. The rear window of a car that was parked in the area of Front Street and Minnie Place was also smashed, and Franklyn was also charged with Criminal Mischief [2C:17-3A(1)] for that. He was issued two complaint summonses, one for each incident, and was released from police custody.
