Secaucus Man, A Bergen Catholic Grad, Accused Of Running Penn State Cocaine Ring (patch.com) — Secaucus residents are learning that 22-year-old Mohammed Huraibi, raised locally and briefly a Secaucus High School student, is among those charged in an alleged cocaine ring based at Penn State fraternity houses. Pennsylvania's attorney general says Huraibi and other students, including two from New Jersey, face serious felony counts tied to what prosecutors describe as a coordinated, profitable campus drug operation.
2. Secaucus Police Officer Talks Man Down From Bridge (secaucusnj.net) — A Secaucus police officer helped talk a distraught man off a bridge near Harmon Cove Towers Monday afternoon, preventing what could have been a deadly fall onto active railroad tracks. Officers and dispatchers worked together to calm him and get him to a hospital, and the police chief is urging anyone in crisis in Secaucus to call 9-1-1 or the 9-8-8 hotline for help.
3. NJ public high schools rank among America's best; state's top 20 (nj1015.com) — Secaucus families can celebrate that High Tech High School in town ranks 17th among all New Jersey public high schools and 334th nationwide in the latest U.S. News list. The statewide report shows New Jersey schools performing strongly overall, with nearly half landing in the top quarter of U.S. rankings.
4. Driver busted weeks after Jersey City hit-and-run left man seriously injured (shorenewsnetwork.com) — An alleged hit-and-run driver in a serious Jersey City pedestrian crash was arrested this week at the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office in Secaucus. While the collision happened in Jersey City, Secaucus residents may notice increased county law-enforcement activity tied to major investigations handled through the local prosecutor's office site.
