September Nature Programs At Liberty State Park

The following is offered at Liberty State Park by the NJ Department of Environmental Protection:

September 9 and 16 11:00 a.m. - noon Storytime and Craft

Settle in at the Nature Center to hear a story about the different kinds of wildlife and habitats found in Liberty State Park. We'll then make a story-related craft you can take home with you. We will meet at the Nature Center located at 275 Freedom Way. Recommended for ages 3 to 6.

September 12 10:00 a.m. - noon Nature's Canvas

Bring your creative skills to Liberty State Park and express your natural side as we learn about some of nature's most captivating creations. You can also make a nature work of art to take home with you! We will meet at the Nature Center located at 275 Freedom Way. All ages welcome. This program is co-sponsored by the Educational Arts Team.

September 20 10:00 a.m. - 11 a.m. Monarch Magic!

Come on out to Liberty State Park and get up close and personal with the monarch butterfly. We'll learn all about the life cycle, feeding habits, and migration journey of this amazing little insect! There will also be a butterfly craft to make and take home. We will meet at the Nature Center located at 275 Freedom Way. Be sure to dress to be outdoors and wear shoes comfortable for walking. All ages welcome.

September 26 10:00 a.m. - 1 p.m. Celebrate National Trails Day at Caven Point - schedule TBA

Explore the wonders of Caven Point as we open this very special area for the fall and winter seasons. We'll have nature walks and arts & crafts programs to participate in as well. We will meet in Lot #1 located at 300 Morris Pesin Drive and walk over the Caven Point. Be sure to dress to be outdoors and wear shoes that can get wet or muddy. If it is a hot day, sunscreen, water, and insect repellent are also recommended. All ages
welcome. This program is co-sponsored by the Educational Arts Team, Friends of Liberty State Park, and Native Plant Society.

Pre-registration is required for all programs and space is limited.
