EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ — Minecraft Experience: Village Rescue will be opening at American Dream on Nov. 13.
The mall announced this Wednesday. The new interactive game experience is ideal for kids ages 4 through teenage years.
Minecraft fans, new adventurers and families of all ages will become heroes in this immersive quest as they step into the Overworld. You will participate in a story-driven rescue mission where iconic biomes, mobs and challenges from the best-selling video game come to life.
Guests begin their 1-hour journey in the forest, where they learn the ropes before entering the village to receive their quest. Interact with pandas and dolphins as well as face skeletons, spiders and – of course – creepers. Armed with only their wit and an Orb of Interaction (a glowing interactive handheld device which guides each user through the experience), groups will embark on a journey in search of the resources needed to craft a life-saving potion.
It's a team game where you need to work together. It will only be at American Dream for a limited time, says the mall, but they did not give an end date. The game is designed for players and non-players alike, with no prior knowledge of Minecraft required.
Tickets go on sale October 1 at www.minecraftexperience.com. Single-ticket prices start at $36, with friends-and-family multi-pack tickets starting at $32.
Minecraft is the best-selling video game of all time, according to the Guiness Book of World Records.
Roy Ghermezian, of the Ghermezian family of Triple Five Group that owns American Dream, said the mall continues to be on the cutting edge of entertainment offerings.
