Arrest Made After Car Hits Pedestrian In Secaucus, Flees Scene

An Irvington man was arrested by Secaucus Police Jan. 3 after police say he hit a pedestrian in November, and then fled the scene.

SECAUCUS, NJ — An Irvington man was arrested by Secaucus Police on Jan. 3 after police say he hit a pedestrian in November, and then fled the scene.

The pedestrian was hit by a car at 6:41 a.m. Nov. 10 in the area of 50 Hartz Way. The pedestrian, a 65-year-old man who is not from Secaucus, was knocked to the ground by a car.

The driver of the car did not stop, but instead drove off, leaving the man injured in the darkened roadway.

The older man survived, but suffered a fractured foot and a head laceration.

Last Tuesday morning, Jan. 3, Secaucus Police arrested Roudy Pierre, 27, of Irvington, and charged him with endangering the welfare of an injured victim. He was arrested at 101 Venture Way in Secaucus.

Pierre was issued his complaint summons, along with eight motor vehicle summonses and he was released from police custody, with a summons to appear in court.

The investigation and arrest was done by the Secaucus Police Department Traffic Bureau.
