SECAUCUS, NJ — They say all politics are local, and that's certainly looking true this October, as some of the biggest names in American politics have flown into Hudson County, or very close by.

The Democratic party is breaking out the big guns as the New Jersey governor's election is looking more and more like it will be a very close race. And NJ Republican candidate for governor Jack Ciattarelli is actually making some last-minute campaign stops in deep-blue Hudson and southern Bergen counties later this week.

President Joe Biden is expected to be at the NJ Transit Meadowlands Maintenance Complex in Kearny later Monday afternoon. He will talk about repairs his administration will make to the Portal Bridge and tout that his "Build Back Better" infrastructure bill includes funding to build a long-awaited Gateway Tunnel, which should lead to faster commuter train times in and out of Penn Station.

Biden will also campaign for Gov. Phil Murphy.

Barack Obama was in Newark Saturday, campaigning for Murphy, and First Lady Jill Biden was in Edison last week on the Murphy campaign trail. Prior to that, Vice President Kamala Harris was in Montclair earlier in October.

Ciattarelli is not coming to Secaucus, but he'll be pretty close. This Wednesday, Oct. 27 Ciattarelli will be hosting a meet and greet with voters in Rutherford, at 33 Ridge Road at 2 p.m.

And then later that same day, he'll be in Hoboken at 5 p.m. for a GOTV press conference. Ciattarelli will host the press conference from Pier A Park at 100 Sinatra Drive.

Both events are open to the public. Later that night, Ciattarelli will hold a Fairfield Town Hall at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7925 and hold another meet and greet with voters at Joe Zone Sports Cafe in Cedar Grove.
