JERSEY CITY, NJ — A woman ran a "massage parlor" that was secretly a brothel directly across the street from the Hudson County courthouse on Newark Avenue, the Hudson County prosecutor charges.
Elizabeth K. Golden, pictured above, was arrested and charged with promoting and engaging in prostitution.
This past Tuesday, Oct. 2, an agent with the county prosecutor set up a sting at the Gold Sakura Spa, located on the second floor of 588 Newark Avenue in Jersey City, directly across the street from the Hudson County courthouse complex. The undercover detective negotiated with Golden to exchange money for a sexual act, county prosecutor Esther Saurez says.

Once the negotiation was complete, Golden was taken into custody and charged with engaging in prostitution.
Golden, age 50, was the only occupant of the facility at the time of her arrest. She is scheduled to make her first appearance on these charges in Central Judicial Processing Court on October 23. The CJP Court is located on the ground floor of the Hudson County Administration Building at 595 Newark Avenue in Jersey City.

The county prosecutor's team also seized client ledgers, Internet website postings and financial records from the spa, as well as $1,200 in U.S. currency during the raid. The massage parlor is now currently closed due to violations from Jersey City authorities.
The Jersey City Police Department - Alcoholic Beverage Control also responded and issued violations for opened containers of alcohol being present in the business. The Jersey City Health Department issued multiple health code violations.
Saurez says Golden is the owner of the spa. She lived in the massage parlor as well, authorities said.
