Driver Sought In Hit-And-Run Of Bayonne Crossing Guard
Just before 8:30 a.m. Monday, a 63-year-old female crossing guard was hit by a car in Bayonne:

BAYONNE, NJ — Just before 8:30 a.m. Monday morning, a 63-year-old female crossing guard was hit by a car in Bayonne, said police in that town.
This happened at the intersection of West 56th Street and Avenue C, and she was hit by the car as she made her way to the sidewalk after crossing schoolchildren across the street.
The driver that hit her stopped his car and assisted her to the sidewalk before leaving the scene toward Jersey City.

Police said the only information they have about the car is that it is a 4-door white sedan being operated by a male driver. The car still remains at large and is being sought by police as of 10 a.m. Monday.
The woman said she had back pain and was taken to an area hospital to be treated. No children were present in the street at the time of the crash.
