SECAUCUS, NJ — Secaucus police say this duo is responsible for as many as nine car break-ins that occurred over the weekend in the North End of town.

Secaucus police said they received several reports yesterday, Monday, April 29 from residents that their cars were burglarized during the overnight hours Sunday, April 28, into Monday. All of the cars that were entered had been left unlocked. This mostly occurred along Radio Avenue.

Police say cash, jewelry, sets of keys and cigarettes were stolen. However, police say the suspects took a garage door opener out of one of the unlocked cars and used it to open the locked garage of a home on Elizabeth Court. They also burglarized another unlocked vehicle parked in the garage.

After getting the calls from residents, Secaucus police officer Jude Masullo was patrolling the area of Radio Avenue at approximately 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 30. He said he noticed a suspicious man and woman in that area, and initiated a conversation with them, later identified as Nicholas Sessa, 18, of Wildwood, NJ and Samantha Fifick, 18, of Edison.

During the inquiry, both Sessa and Fifick were found to be in possession of what was believed to be stolen property from some of the cars the night before, police said.

Police said they eventually gathered enough evidence against the duo to determine they were responsible for nine reported vehicle burglaries and the burglary of the Elizabeth Court garage.

Sessa and Fifick were each charged with the following crimes: Ten counts of burglary, three counts of theft, one count of receiving stolen property and seven counts each of conspiracy to commit burglary and theft.

They were both taken to the Hudson County Jail.
