Free Breast Exams This Sunday At Secaucus Hospital

SECAUCUS, NJ — All are invited to Hudson Regional Hospital’s second annual Breast Cancer Awareness Brunch this Sunday, Oct. 27 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for complimentary brunch, breast cancer screenings, women’s health education by industry leaders and raffles and giveaways.
This breast cancer awareness event is part of Hudson Regional Hospital's extensive community outreach program designed to provide access to healthcare to all Hudson, Bergen and Essex County residents.
WHAT: Hudson Regional Hospital’s Breast Cancer Awareness Brunch is a complimentary women’s health event that includes:

· Breast exams (an exam with a doctor to check for lumps. Should anyone require further testing (mammogram), the doctor will provide a script.)
· Brunch

· Tours of newly renovated Radiology Department.

WHEN: Sun., Oct. 27th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
WHAT ELSE: Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death among women but if detected early, the five-year survival rate is 99 percent.
Also on Tuesday, Oct. 29 from 4 to 6 p.m., Dr. Maurizio Miglietta, DO, FACOS, Chief of Surgery at Hudson Regional Hospital will be providing free hernia screenings. Hospital staff will be on-hand to schedule appointments for patients requiring additional examinations and those who require treatment.

WHAT: Hudson Regional Hospital is providing free hernia screenings. A screening is recommended for anyone experiencing:
- Swelling, bulging or pain in the abdomen pelvis or groin area;
- Pain or discomfort, especially while bending, coughing or lifting;
- Weakness, pressure or a peculiar feeling in the abdomen;
- New or enlarging ‘outie’ belly button.
