Hudson County's First Baby Of 2019 Born In ... Secaucus!

Kaulimah Parson delivered her daughter Zuri at 1:41 a.m. on Jan. 1 at Hudson Regional Hospital here in Secaucus.

SECAUCUS, NJ — Yes, the first baby to be born in Hudson County in 2019 was born in tiny, little Secaucus, beating babies born next door in Jersey City on New Year's Day by a good eight hours or more.

Kaulimah Parson delivered her daughter Zuri at 1:41 a.m. on Jan. 1 at Hudson Regional Hospital, a hospital spokeswoman told Patch.

Interestingly, mother and daughter share the same birthday: Kaulimah’s birthday is also January 1. The family lives in Jersey City.

"As far as we know, Zuri was the first baby born in 2019 in Hudson County!," said the spokeswoman Marjorie Kaplan.

And she's right: A baby boy was born at Jersey City Medical Center at 9:58 a.m. Jan. 1 and a baby girl was born at 3:58 p.m. at Christ Hospital. Three babies were born Jan. 1, 2019 at Palisades Medical Center (part of Hackensack), but their times are unknown.
