Man Broke Into Cars Near Buchmuller Park, Ran, Secaucus Cops Say
A First Avenue (near Buchmuller Park) resident called Secaucus police at 2 a.m. Monday to report men were pulling on car door handles.

SECAUCUS, NJ — A good reminder to Secaucus residents to always lock their car doors: A resident of First Avenue (near Buchmuller Park) called Secaucus police at 2 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9 to report that two individuals were pulling on door handles of cars parked in the neighborhood.
The first responding officer said he observed Dashawn Bowens, 22, of Jersey City, quickly walk away and enter an alleyway of a residence on the 1100 block of Cedar Lane. When the officer exited his patrol car, Bowens took off running through the yards of nearby homes, police said.
Police said they set up a perimeter, and Bowens was found hiding under a deck in the backyard of a nearby home on the 1100 block of Paterson Plank Road. Police said he was found in possession of proceeds, which were later determined to have been stolen from a car in the area.

The other individual fled the area on foot and was not apprehended as of yet Monday afternoon.
Bowens was charged with burglary, theft and resisting arrest by flight. He was also wanted on a warrant out of Newark. He was taken to the Hudson County Jail.
