Man Charged With Gunpoint Sex Assault In Secaucus Motel

Police say shortly after 1 a.m. Jan. 15 he entered the woman's hotel room, robbed her of over $400 and sexually assaulted her at gunpoint.

SECAUCUS, NJ — A man was arrested Thursday and charged on multiple charges related to an armed robbery and aggravated sexual assault in Secaucus on January 15, 2020.

Police say that in the early morning hours of Wednesday, January 15, the Secaucus Police Department received a report of woman who had been robbed and sexually assaulted at gunpoint at the Red Roof Inn at 15 Meadowlands Parkway.

The investigation determined that shortly after 1 a.m., the man forcibly entered the victim’s hotel room, held her against her will, robbed her of over $400 and sexually assaulted her at gunpoint, said the office of Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Saurez.

Dajan Mindingall, 27, of Eatontown, was arrested Thursday.

Mindingall was arrested at the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack where he was being held following his arrest related to a string of armed robberies in multiple jurisdictions throughout New Jersey.

He was processed and remains in custody in the Bergen County Jail.

Mindingall has been charged with aggravated sexual assault, robbery, aggravated assault and weapons charges, among other charges.
