Man Punches Bayonne Bus Driver In Face, Police Say
When the driver told him that bus was not going to Journal Square, the man punched him in the face and ran off, said police.
BAYONNE, NJ — A bus driver was punched in the face by a passenger Thursday morning in Bayonne, according to Bayonne police.
Police said the incident happened in the area of 54th Street and Kennedy Blvd. at about 7:30 Thursday morning. The 57-year-old male bus driver said the suspect, a man, boarded the bus and the driver asked where he was going, to make sure he got on the right bus.
When the driver told him the bus was not going to Journal Square, the man punched him in the face and ran off.

The driver said he then also ran off the bus and tried to chase down the suspect, but was unsuccessful. The man fled on foot to 55th Street, then east towards Avenue C.
The driver sustained an injury to his nose and refused medical attention at the scene.
