BAYONNE, NJ — For reasons unknown, multiple men fired a gun at least once Tuesday afternoon at the Motor Vehicle Commission location in Bayonne.

The shots were fired in the parking lot, not inside the building, Bayonne police told Patch.

Nobody was injured by the gunshots, and the men who did the shooting — Bayonne police think there are multiple suspects — ran off, said Bayonne police. As of Wednesday, they have yet to be found or arrested.

But people who were inside the MVC said on Facebook they were incredibly shaken up by what they had just witnessed.

The shooting broke out at about 1:24 p.m., said Lt. Eric Amato of Bayonne police. The shots were fired at 1347 Kennedy Boulevard, the site of the Bayonne MVC.
