A call from a resident about men urinating outside their car led Secaucus police to recover a loaded handgun Friday afternoon, cops said.

SECAUCUS, NJ — A call from a resident about men urinating outside their car led Secaucus police to recover a loaded handgun Friday afternoon in a residential section of town, police announced.
At approximately 3:11 p.m. this past Friday, April 13, Secaucus police received a call from a resident reporting a “suspicious vehicle” in the area of Mansfield Avenue and 5th Street (near Clarendon Elementary School). The resident said they saw one of the men urinating next to the vehicle.
The police said they developed enough probable cause to search the car, but they would not tell Patch what that probable cause was. During a search of the vehicle, Secaucus police said they found drug paraphernalia that was consistent with packaging drugs for distribution and a loaded Colt Detective Special .38 caliber revolver. Police also said they found a screwdriver in the car that they suspect is a burglary tool.
