SECAUCUS, NJ — This document from Hartz Mountain was shared in Secaucus town Facebook groups this week, and it says 100 Paterson Plank Road — a property known locally as the Mori Tract — could become an AI data center.

When asked about it Wednesday, Mayor Mike Gonnelli said that document is old and outdated. He stressed, as he has said many times before, that 100 Paterson Plank Road is going to become a warehouse — not a data center.

To prove it, Gonnelli shared the photo above. It's a conditional zoning certificate for the property, and it was granted March 19, 2026 from the NJ Sports & Exposition Authority, which controls the zoning on that lot.

It states the property will become a warehouse.

"A 775,000-square-foot warehouse and distribution facility, inclusive of 748,320 square feet of warehouse space and 26,680 square feet of office space," reads the document.

Gonnelli has stressed many times the Mori Tract will not become the town's 12th data center.

"It will be a warehouse," Gonnelli said Wednesday. "I can't tell you the (name of) the warehouse operator yet."

100 Paterson Plank Road used to be owned by a man named Mori, and that's why Secaucus old-timers call it the Mori Tract.

It is currently owned by Hartz Mountain, which is a prominent developer that owns a lot of land in Secaucus. Hartz Mountain are the developers of Harmon Cove townhomes and the high-rise.
