Due to complications at birth, Atlas was born with a left arm that ended just below the elbow. As a young child, Kevin struggled in school and with self-confidence, until a middle school coach showed that he believed in him. From that moment on, Kevin dedicated himself to school and basketball, and eventually earned a Division-1 basketball scholarship.
Kevin's story is so powerful that it was chronicled in an Oscar-qualifying documentary entitled "Long Shot."
